Please send your complete application to international@srzg.de with the subject line "Application Walkshop Long-Term Peacekeeping [Your First and Last Name]."
The application deadline is 31 March 2025.
Taking part in the 2025 Walkshop, the five-day expedition, is an opportunity to engage deeply with one of the most pressing security challenges of our time. This program is designed for those eager to explore the complexities of nuclear deterrence, peacekeeping, and international security while developing the skills to become informed advocates for peace. The Walkshop offers a rare chance to learn through experience, combining expert-led digital content, structured discussions, and site visits to places of strategic and historical significance. Participants will immerse themselves in dialogue with leading scholars, policymakers, and activists, gaining a multifaceted understanding of both the risks posed by nuclear weapons and the frameworks for conflict prevention and resolution. It is not possible to participate only part-time in the event.
The discussion evenings are open to all. In this regard, they are independent from the Walkshop and not part of the application procedure. We welcome everybody, especially the local population. The discussion evenings provide an excellent alternative to engage with distinguished speakers and contribute to conversations on nuclear arms control. You can find more information on the discussion evenings and how to register for them here.
The Walkshop experience does not end when the journey concludes. It marks the beginning of an intellectual and professional network. As an alumnus of the program, you will have the opportunity to remain connected with the Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (FRFG) and your fellow participants, enabling continued dialogue and collaboration in the field of peace and security.
To support this ongoing exchange, an annual alumni video conference will provide a space to reflect on developments in international peacekeeping, share personal projects, and continue discussions initiated during the Walkshop. This network serves as a platform for long-term engagement, allowing participants to stay informed, exchange ideas, and actively contribute to the global discourse on peace and security.
