The upcoming Walkshop is set to take place over the course of six days around Loch Lomond in Scotland in the summer of 2025. Here, 25 young people will be trained as multipliers for peace and international conflict prevention through digital auditory teaching/learning materials, learning venues, and discussion sessions on a hike of 58 km in Scotland near the location of Britain’s nuclear weapons. Scotland is famous for its unique landscape and endless hiking possibilities. The hike has been divided into four stages which have been marked on the map and are detailed below.

Day 1: Milngavie to Drymen

Length: 20.4km, 5 hours and 10 minutes (plus breaks)

Ascent: 141m

Notes: The first stage is varied in types of footpaths. One should expect minimal road surface, with lots of forested and gravel paths.

Day 2: Drymen to Balloch

Length: 16.6km, 4 hours and 5 minutes (plus breaks)

Ascent: 82m

Notes: The first half of the route is primarily asphalt.

Day 3: Balloch to Helensburgh

Length: 12.8km, 3 hours and 30 minutes (plus breaks)

Ascent: 310m

Notes: The final stretch of this leg will primarily take place in the city of Helensburgh on footpaths.

Day 4: Helensburgh to Faslane

Length: 8.5km, 2 hours and 5 minutes (plus breaks)

Ascent: 28m

Notes: The route is a mix of paths, nature trails, and minimal roads. In Faslane, the group will visit the Peace Camp and speak with activists.
