Travel to Glasgow

Getting to the Walkshop

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel to and from Glasgow, where the Walkshop will begin and end.

Recommended Train Routes

For those traveling from Central Europe, the Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (FRFG) encourages train travel as a sustainable and comfortable alternative to air travel.

Train Route

1. Eurostar to London – Direct high-speed train from Brussels, Paris, or Lille to London St. Pancras Station.

2. Train from London to Glasgow – Several options are available:

1. Daytime service by LNER (London North Eastern Railway) or Avanti West Coast:  high-speed daytime trains from London King’s Cross or London Euston, travelling via Edinburgh (approx. 5 hours).

2. Caledonian Sleeper – An overnight train from London Euston to Glasgow Central, offering a comfortable and time-efficient, but more expensive journey.

Other major European cities, including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Cologne, and Geneva, offer high-speed train connections to Brussels or Paris, where travellers can easily transfer to the Eurostar for onward travel to London.

Cost Considerations
Train fares vary significantly, so FRFG strongly recommends booking early to secure the best prices. Interrail or Eurail Passes may offer cost-effective options for those travelling from multiple countries.
